Here is a great little weekend getaway car. A 1979 MGB Roadster. 1979 was the year before model end and these were produced in limited production out of Abingdon, England. The MGB was also one of the first cars produced that featured "controlled crumple zones", designed to protect the passengers of the vehicle.
EXTERIOR
The exterior of this MGB was repainted the beautiful Burgundy that you see here today, however it was originally green as indicated in the engine compartment and portions of the trunk. The car looks great and the Beige removable top is in great shape, as is the polished trim and color matched wheels. The only noticeable flaws are the missing side marker plastic on the passenger side and a couple of center caps are missing on the passenger side wheels. Otherwise the vehicle shows beautifully and is a blast to drive. If you are looking for a traditional sports car, consider this beautiful little MGB as your next toy.
INTERIOR
Nice clean interior, Beige carpet and upholstery that matches the removable top. The interior is showing use in some places, however it is our impression that it was restored at some point in the past. No tears or rips in the upholstery, everything appears to be in good condition, cared for and functional. The cockpit of this little road rocket just feels like it was made for carving up mountain roads. Nice condition overall, no disappointments here.
Engine / Transmission
Powered by the BMC B-Series 4cyl 1798cc 4cyl engine, this little sports car is said to do 0-60 in only 11 seconds! Carbureted by the famous Stromberg 44mm carb, the car now features an open element performance aircleaner for extra ponies!
The transmission is a 4spd manual trans, all gears are in good working order, clutch seems to be in good shape. Ready to drive now, hit the key and go!
